...and this is the author dedicated page on my horror review website, Red Rose Horror. While I am passionate about horror it isn't the only thing I care about or write about. In addition to RRH I write poetry, short stories, articles, non-fiction essays, and as of recently novels.
As of now my poetry book, Ruminate, is available to download and is my first published work. I'm also editing a gothic horror novel with a working title, The Fixation, and have more info directly below where there's a button to read the prologue and first chapter

My first book, Impaired Judgments: A Collection of Poems is available to download or view now via the Google Drive linked below! All of the poems were originally written by me, Kayla Moreé, between 2010-2025, largely about my mental health and addiction struggles as they unfolded. Despite the association with my life nothing is offered as fact or evidence and is rather a rough wireframe of my experiences through my POV at the time. Additionally due to this the poems only reflect my singular perspective and not the whole truth of any matters.
Addiction thrives in darkness where shame can fester, something often repeated in self-help books and therapy settings that I agree with. Often during my mental health struggles I would tell myself that since I wasn’t as bad as some other person or story I knew that I didn’t have any problems that needed addressing. This of course wasn’t true and only served as an excuse that helped me worsen my own situation.
I hope that these poems find those who relate to (or connect with) them and at the very least they provide entertainment and perspective while reading. Despite the subject matter I do not believe that my circumstances are the worst or even relatively bad when compared to others but rather that they just simply are.

I spend way too much time, money, and energy on horror and Red Rose Horror is the culmination of that pass time. I started reviewing horror in 2021 and since then I've come to believe that everything is horror and that horror is in everything. In part meaning anything can be a horror movie with minor tweaks and additionally that all horror movies contain or pertain to deeper themes and plots that delve into the spectrums of human emotion better than most genres.
My opinion is obviously bias towards horror but nonetheless much of what I post for Red Rose Horror is in pursuit of arguing and supporting those beliefs, which isn't everyone's cup of tea. I strive (and sometimes fail) to incorporate historical & pop culture context, background info, and the audience's reception when reviewing & critiquing horror media.
Theoretically we can learn about broader society, culture, and ourselves by examining the media that we produce and how we all respond to what is produced. I think that horror despite being a bedrock genre doesn't receive the same reverence or respect as other genres like it. RRH and related content seeks to contribute to those broader conversations while also serving as a personal creative outlet.
The horror media I have and plan to review includes but isn't limited to movies, shows, platforms, and books with the overarching view that everything really is that deep.
